Random annoyance…

We interrupt your normal viewing of this blog for a mild rant about the irresponsibility of some people…

Yes this will border on political… So my big annoyance right now is people who use abortions as birth control. Yes I am pro-choice, and I am sure that confuses some of you, but hear me out. There are lots of reasons that abortion needs to stay a viable option… I don’t want nor need to know why people choose to do what they do when a) it doesn’t affect me or anyone I care about, but if that person is going to choose to share far too much info with me then just grr.

I now have had the pleasure to know too many people who have done this… I just don’t understand, If you don’t want to have a baby then there are much safer, happier, healthier / smarter ways to not have a baby then to have an abortion…  Hell I’ll even give people 1 freebie for the excuse of their choice, but when the same woman comes in 2, 3, 4, + times over the course of her child-bearing years to have “it taken care of” I find that nauseating, disturbing and frankly stupid.

Attempts…

  I must say when you try to be organized in an everly increasing unorganized place it can start to take its toll on you.

Between some unfortunate and unexpected events this weekend and a msg received this morning I foresee the next week or so of my life being ever more crazy.

I do LOVE my job… I do ADORE my family and friends… and as a previous boss told me, in our profession it is important to make the most of the time away from work that we do get as to keep our priorities right. Smart man. I do feel like I try to do that, even if at times it might not look that way to those around me. Family is a priority, Friends are a priority. (Yes the lines there are blurred at times too ) However work too needs to be a minor priority as it is what allows those other things to be priorities.

Yesterday was my 1st full day off in about 2 weeks. (I know that I am luckier than some when it comes to that.) I was supposed to have another day off next sunday… it’s not looking like that is going to happen.  Yet when I turn in my time sheets I am getting told / asked why I don’t have my 1 day off a week that I am supposed to take.

These things are fine and part of the job, I do understand that… however when people are unorganized around you it makes it harder to yourself be organized. Last minutes schedule changes should be rarities not the norm. When re-scheduling things that had to be canceled I find it hard to believe one would give someone less than 24 hr notice… yet it does happen, and at times can’t be helped. Again though these should be rarities not the norm.

Life in our home… recently…

So we are all back to our somewhat usual lives again, thanks to the school season being back in full swing. Lori is still working as a one on one aide in a special needs class. I have to say that I am so happy that she enjoys her job. Jessie started middle school this year. This is both frightening and exciting for us all. While I have a job doing what I love at a local small college being their athletic trainer.  We have all been so busy with things but we still try to find at least a day a week to just do some fun stuff together be it home or out and about.

Midnight seems to enjoy our new schedules – he gets to have extra cuddle time, and isn’t home alone as much. The cats on the other hand seem as indifferent as usual.

Extended family & friends – Holy cow don’t drink the water in WNY unless you want to get engaged, married or pregnant. Congrats to everyone on all of these things. Yes we have been to a lot of weddings and seen many a new babies and there are more weddings and babies to come. We are already scheduling weddings and baby visits well into next summer so if you have any more of these such joyous occasions to add please let us know.

LONG TIME>……

No I did not fall off the face of the planet… Well maybe I did, but I am back now. I am hoping to update life on this periodically.

I must say it was definitely interesting going through and recapping everything I had posted on here before and cleaning it up some.
